課程目標 |
The objective of this course is to give students an overview of major theories, debates, and empirical results in international economics. We will focus on the following topics: international trade, gains from trade, balance of payments, currency exchange rates, foreign exchange parity relations, foreign exchange determination and forecasting, and global capital markets. Although these topics may be highly mathematical, we will quickly review the technical parts and emphasize the concepts and intuitions of them. Students are encouraged to ask and discuss the applications of these theories in the real world. In fact, we will read some research reports from central banks or investment banks. By the end of the course, students should have developed a point of view about news and events related to international economics. |
